About this event

The Walk and Read at Strang Park is posted year-round in partnership with Johnson County Library, Johnson County Department of Health and Environment and the City of Overland Park. This initiative features two stories displayed along a paved path behind Central Resource Library at Strang Park . Participants can enjoy a leisurely walk while reading the stories — one leading from the Library to the playground and the other from the playground back to the Library. Dates are subject to change due to weather. Stories posted this fall: September : "Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn" by Kenard Pak and "A Crown for Corina" by Laekan Zea Kemp October: "In the Middle of Fall" by Kevin Henkes and "Lucky Leaf" by Kevin O'Malley November: "Ruby, Head High" by Irène Cohen-Janca and "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves!" by Lucille Colandro December: " Just One More Sleep " by Jamie Lee Curtis and " Goodbye Autumn, Hello Winter " by Kenard Pak
