About this event
Simply put, as a culture we don’t move enough and we don’t move enough of our parts. For example: a good portion of our day (whether at work or home) is us sitting in the shape of a chair (or worse). What effect is this having on our bodies? Then let’s look at how little the vast majority of our collective feet get to move well: We pack 25% of our muscles (33 joints each!) into shoes that don’t allow us to get the nuanced sensory input they crave. Too much sole, not to mention too much heel vs toe height, no room for toe spread and more. Let’s not mention how much hard, flat and level surface we walk on, practically no walking on varying terrain happens regularly. The purpose of this class is not only to encourage us to get moving more in our daily lives but to move more of us (our parts) by focusing on alignment (form) and creating parameters to help you actually get your target parts to show up and participate. We really dial into the details of moving. We also help find and resolve those complex ‘sticky’ spots. Our health is greatly reliant on as much of us being as active as possible and we can absolutely get there, one part at a time. The last Saturday of every month is dedicated to Restorative Rolling where we use balls and other gear to get into those problematic sticky spots.
