Postgres: Take a Hint

About this event

Let's meet and talk about using query hints in Postgres. There's a 3rd party extension to do this called pg_hint_plan and a new feature coming in Postgres 19 to add query plan advice directly to the system. This discussion will be led by Dan Gras who has recently implemented some hints to solve a few production issues and Elizabeth Christensen who will talk about some of the new Postgres 19 features.

As always this meetup is open to anyone at any level of database experience. We'll meet at 5 in the library for a presentation and discussion and then go across to the Lenexa Public Market for snacks, drinks, and networking.
