2024 IFC Significant Changes

About this event

Join us for a focused review of the significant changes in the 2024 IFC and how they affect code officials, plans examiners, inspectors, designers, contractors, and fire protection professionals.

This 6-hour continuing education training is organized by the Region IV Chapter of ICC.

This course will focus on the major changes from the 2021 International Fire Code (IFC) to the 2024 IFC and their effects on design, construction, plan review, operations, and inspection requirements.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify specific code changes between the 2021 and 2024 editions of the IFC.

• Identify new chapters and significant revisions in the 2024 IFC.

• Explain the intent and application of new and revised requirements in the 2024 IFC.

• Explain the applicability of new or revised design, plan review, and inspection requirements.

• Describe how significant administrative changes in the 2024 IFC affect the duties and responsibilities of code officials and the usability of the code.

Virtual: Training will be available virtually for participants who cannot attend in person.

Parking: Parking is available in the parking garage on the south side of City Hall. Please do not park on the streets or in front of the north side of City Hall. Those spaces are reserved for City business.

Lunch

Lunch is not provided. A variety of lunch options are available at Lenexa City Center, including burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and other dining choices.

Certificate Information

Please provide the email address for each individual who needs a certificate. Certificates are emailed directly to each participant, so we need a separate, individual email address for every person taking the class.
