About this event
Lake Moon Literary is a welcoming gathering for flash fiction, micro-memoir, micro-biography, and short personal stories. We’ll talk, write, read our work aloud, and share thoughtful feedback as we discover how a few vivid details, natural conversation, and small changes can turn everyday moments into memorable pieces.
The class is about noticing what matters in a single scene, trusting your readers to follow you, and shaping your work for possible publication in a literary journal. Later, we’ll celebrate with a book signing.
Session 1: Intro – How to get started. Where and when to do it. What to write about. Basic exercises, demo, and examples. Homework writing is assigned. Session 2: Review excerpts of homework. Feedback, critique, and how to edit. Guest speaker, local published author. Session 3: Review excerpts of edited story. Feedback and critique. How to get it finished. Advanced editing. Session 4: Read and polish your story. Prepare for publishing. Guest speaker: published author and editor. Next steps as a writer.
