ABOUT TINA ROJAS

I grew up as a studio kid competitively dancing and performing, transitioned to the commercial dance profession as I trained in LA and Kansas City into my twenties working on commercial shoots, productions, cirque and cabaret creations, musicals and beginning a movement called the Own It Project. I have produced my own production called Femme Fatale in 2019 which combined various forms of commercial choreography while highlighting HEELS as the main focus for self and communal empowerment. Most recently I have choreographed/managed/styled and helped produce shows in the Bahamas, South Padre, Vegas, Kansas City, Denver, etc. I am currently in teacher training for my Ashtanga Yoga certification which is an extensive 9-month program that studies anatomy, philosophy, asanas (postures), breathwork and quality teaching techniques. I will graduate August 2024 with my certification and begin teaching both dance and yoga. I have trained in Chicago, LA, NYC and Kansas City studying ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, jazz funk, hip hop, lyrical, musical theatre and most notably my biggest passion, heels dance. I have trained and taught at Empire Dance Academy, Dance Fit Flow, Kansas City Ballet, Point B Dance, Paige Productions, Quixotic and various other studios and pop-up locations around Kansas City since 2014. I have my bachelors from The University of Kansas in Theatre & Dance Performance with my Masters of Science in Nutrition Science Research. My approach to dance is holistic, well-rounded and considers the whole being. I plan to continue teaching, directing and choreographing well into my 30s and 40s.
