ADHDKC Women’s Group: Executive Function Series — Impulse Control

Sunday, November 8, 2026 | 2:30 PM

Have you ever spoken before you had a chance to think, made an impulsive purchase, interrupted someone, or acted on an emotion before deciding how you really wanted to respond? You're not alone!

Join the ADHDKC Women’s Group for the first event in our new Executive Function Series, starting with a topic you requested: Impulse Control!

Executive functions are the brain skills that help us pause, think, plan, organize, and manage our responses. For women with ADHD, impulse control can sometimes feel like a challenge, whether it's blurting out thoughts, making snap decisions, interrupting conversations, or struggling to resist an immediate reward.

Together, we'll explore how impulse control works in the ADHD brain, why it can be challenging, and practical strategies to help us pause before acting. We'll share experiences, learn from one another, and discover approaches we can practice in everyday life.

You don't need to have all the answers—or even have a strategy that works every time. This is a welcoming space to connect with other women who understand the ADHD experience.

What to expect

• Learn more about impulse control and executive functioning.

• Explore common ways impulsivity shows up in daily life.

• Share practical strategies and ideas with other women with ADHD.

• Connect with a supportive community where you can be yourself.

Looking ahead: Our Executive Function Series

We'll take a break in December for the holidays, then continue the series in the new year!

• November: Impulse Control

• January: Working Memory

• February: Emotional Regulation

Each session will focus on a different executive function, with practical ideas and opportunities to learn from one another.

Come join us on Sunday, November 8, at 2:30 PM at Central Resource Library in Conference Room 1.

Whether you're a regular attendee or joining us for the first time, we'd love to see you!

Please RSVP so we know to expect you. We look forward to learning and connecting together!
