BUSINESS NEWS

  • Quilters Bliss will move to a new location at 2109 E. 151st St. in Olathe by early March, expanding its classes and inventory of quilting and sewing supplies while offering easier access with a parking lot entrance.  Johnson County Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials will build a 200-foot pedestrian bridge over the Cedar Lake spillway at Cedar Lake Park as part of dam and sewer upgrades, and a $200,000 grant from a local trail fund supports the project set to start late 2026 and finish summer 2027.  Olathe Reporter
  • County leaders announced bus route changes effective March 1—two routes will end and micro transit will run only inside the Interstate-435 loop on weekdays. Public meetings are set at Oak Park Library and Central Resource Library to explain the adjustments.  KCTV 5

SPORTS NEWS

  • Kansas House Speaker Dan Hawkins said the Royals missed the Dec. 31 deadline for the special stadium incentive, making a move to Overland Park unlikely. The baseball team is still working to find a new ballpark but has not confirmed any plans (including alternatives outside of Overland Park).  Johnson County Post
