- ➤ JCPRD parks will offer winter recreation including sledding, cross-country skiing, and winter hiking when the weather transforms parks into winter wonderlands, and off-leash dog areas are available in Heritage Park and other locations—residents are advised to dress in layers and follow safety guidelines. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Johnson County airports will get $4.3 million in federal funds to improve runways, airfield signage and lighting at New Century AirCenter near 175th Street and Interstate 35, and at Johnson County Executive Airport near 151st Street and Pflumm Road. A two-year master plan update will begin soon. Johnson County
- ➤ One of Olathe's largest road projects is expected to finish 81 days sooner than planned. The 119th Street extension, initially planned for early 2027, will complete in October with closures on 119th and Northgate from March 2 to Oct. 1. Olathe Reporter
