- ➤ A snowstorm is approaching, and Olathe residents are preparing using time-tested routines such as shoveling and generator checks. City crews (over 100 plow trucks ready) will clear main roads first to help keep traffic safe. KCTV 5
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Johnson County Post was chosen as a 2026 host newsroom by Report for America and will add an education reporter to cover local public schools later this summer in Johnson County. The move—backed by a $300,000 Google News Initiative grant—aims to strengthen local news coverage for the community. Johnson County Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Johnson County and partner cities will launch the Johnson County United Link transit circulator this summer to connect seven cities including Olathe with overlapping stops at Oak Park Mall. The service will run from early June to mid-July & details on routes and hours will be announced this spring. Johnson County
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Solomon’s Porch, a new assisted living facility focused on memory care, is set to open in Olathe near Mur-Len and Indian Creek Parkway. Mark Boek, a local real estate investor, said his plan was inspired by his father-in-law’s battle with Alzheimer’s. Olathe Reporter

- ➤ Maura Heft, who spent five years facing homelessness, became the first homeowner in Habitat KC's new Olathe Pathways subdivision of 14-attainable homes at Heritage Park on Wednesday, marking a major step for affordable housing in the community. Johnson County Post
- ➤ Olathe City Council approved Stellar Apartments for 280 residential units near Indian Creek Library on Tuesday. The project will offer an outdoor swimming pool, dog park + walking trails for residents. Olathe Reporter
