- ➤ Rep. Sharice Davids visited Habitat for Humanity projects in Olathe on Feb. 27 (where the nonprofit built the Olathe Pathway project) to discuss plans for affordable homes amid local opposition. The meeting tackled supply chain challenges and rising costs while noting the project welcomed its first resident in January. Johnson County Post
- ➤ Jewish community leaders have warned of potential safety risks amid rising Middle East tensions as Purim ends Tuesday and Jewish Advocacy Day is observed (a reminder of local security concerns). Jay Lewis of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City noted mixed feelings about the outlook ahead. KMBC

- ➤ Pizza Tascio, a Missouri-based pizzeria, will open its second Johnson County location later this spring at 1485 E 151st St near Walgreens + Anytime Fitness, offering New York-style pizza, salads and cheesy breadsticks. Johnson County Post
- ➤ Brookside Barkery is growing its JoCo presence with two new retail spots in Overland Park and Leawood and a planned store in Prairie Village. The pet retailer also launched InstaBark—a same-day delivery service—and is looking to expand to Olathe soon. Johnson County Post
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Olathe Public Schools voters approved a $389 million bond on Tuesday to fund facility upgrades, school consolidations & technology improvements. The district will now sell bonds to repay the investment without raising property taxes. Johnson County Post
