ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in the area spiked 20-40 cents recently amid global tensions, and experts cited supply issues from Iran disruptions. Analysts expect prices to return to normal within a month or two, noting that most oil comes from Canada & Mexico. KMBC
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Voters in three local school districts delivered different results on bond proposals. Olathe approved a $389 million measure (the largest in district history) to improve schools, De Soto backed a bond for safety and new programs, while Lansing rejected plans for facility repairs. KCTV 5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Olathe city government maintained its top spot as survey data from the ETC Institute showed residents rated satisfaction 49 percent above the national average, based on responses from 2,138 local residents. The data confirms the city’s strong community approval. Olathe Reporter
- ➤ State Line Road will reduce to one lane northbound and southbound between 92nd and 95th Streets and between 100th Terrace and 103rd Street starting March 11 (tentative) due to a Johnson County Wastewater project that installs a sanitary sewer forcemain and repaves southbound lanes; work will finish in May.
