- ➤ Despite a $389 million school bond, declining enrollment forced Olathe Public Schools to plan more consolidation, with enrollment down 1,379 since 2021. Superintendent Brent Yeager said a task force will present recommendations to the board in early summer—leaving families hoping for clearer plans. KSHB

- ➤ New tax rules for tips, overtime pay and senior deductions could change take-home amounts this tax season, financial expert Alan Becker said. Taxpayers in Olathe should review their records and consult advisors since these temporary benefits will apply only for about three years. KSHB
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Registration is open for the Garmin Olathe Marathon on April 25 with limited spots available. The event will offer a marathon, half marathon, 10k and munchkin run celebrating a Land of Oz theme along local streets and trails — road closures are expected. Olathe Reporter
