Lenexa-based nonprofit Care Package Inbound now delivers pre-packed backpacks with essentials to foster children (supporting 25 distribution points) to ease transitions into new homes; it plans to serve 2,000 bags later this year.

Olathe nonprofit Starfish Project needs help securing a new space after it was asked to vacate its current location in February — president Joni Moreland said a promising option was identified and further support may be needed to close the deal.
