- ➤ Two years ago the Johnson County Library board removed overdue fines to boost access and ease patron visits—this change helped visits grow more than 6 percent between 2022-23 while wait times rose slightly by 1.5 percent. Staff now spend their time helping patrons rather than collecting fines. Johnson County Post
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ 888 Int’l Market and Cafe in Overland Park is working to reduce the impact of new tariffs on its imported products. Manager Mike Lui said the store may see a 10% to 25% price increase on Chinese goods in the next few weeks — the business is stocking up on current supplies to keep costs low. KSHB
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Denton Loudermill Jr.—an Olathe man falsely accused of being a shooter after a Chiefs’ Super Bowl rally and briefly detained during the Feb. 14th shooting that killed a DJ and injured over 20—has died at age 49, with his attorney saying more details will be provided. KSNT
