- ➤ Johnson County Library announced that 13 teen and young adult volunteers have earned the Presidential Service Award by meeting the required 50 service hours for teens and 100 for young adults—together they contributed 1,089 hours during National Volunteer Appreciation Week. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Late Saturday night at 11:21 p.m. on Metcalf Avenue just north of Johnson Drive, a head-on crash between a 2013 Toyota and a 2015 Kia killed two Johnson County teens—17-year-old driver Jose Placensia Castañeda died later at the hospital while 18-year-old passenger Itzel Guerra died at the scene—and injured two women in the Kia.
