- ➤ An Edgerton man pleaded guilty to first degree murder for killing paramedic Cade Blackburn on March 30th and now faces a life sentence with no parole until after serving at least 25 years—Judge Erica K. - ➤ Olathe's government held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday before beginning construction on Fire Station No.9—located near Pioneer Park on College Boulevard by Woodland Street. The station will serve local fire protection needs once completed. Olathe Reporter
- ➤ The Kansas Legislative Research Department estimates the state will run a $930 million deficit in FY 2025 and continue facing losses through FY 2029—foreseeing a projected wipeout of the beginning balance by FY 2029.
