Johnson County residents and local health care providers expressed deep worry about possible Medicaid cuts as Congress plans to reduce spending by $880 million over the next 10 years—threatening coverage for children, seniors and people with disabilities.
A meeting is set for May 7 by the House Energy and Commerce Committee to review these plans while some officials promise to protect those in need.
