- ➤ Olathe pool season will begin Memorial Day, May 24, with Lake Olathe and Black Bob Bay opening while Frontier, Mill Creek and Oregon Trail Pools will open on May 26—the city will offer the new Olathe One Pass for unlimited summer activities until Labor Day. Olathe Reporter

- ➤ Ten Kansas City metro residents were hurt when a trolley carrying 41 passengers crashed Saturday morning near Hermann—officials said the bus left Highway 100 and all 32 injured, including a seriously hurt driver, were taken to local hospitals. FOX 4 Kansas City

- ➤ A former Johnson County emergency communications employee was charged with three counts of sexually exploiting a child for allegedly coercing underage girls on Snapchat between Aug 1 and Oct 11 last year—he admitted asking about ten minors and faces a bond hearing today at 8:45 a.m. Johnson County Post
- ➤ On April 17, 23-year-old Brooke Luther was shot in the face at Two Trails Park in Olathe—she is now treated in hospital as her family speaks out on gun violence while the suspect remains in custody. KSHB
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Olathe City Council will vote today on three large projects on 167th Street that together cover more than 1.3 million square feet of development space—this action will determine the next steps in the city's planning process. Olathe Reporter
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ AdventHealth South Overland Park unveiled its new critical care unit on its fifth floor this spring to handle more patients from the growing community. The unit has six ICU beds, 12 PCU beds and telemedicine services—helping doctors check on patients quickly. Johnson County Post
