- ➤ Ensorfest '25 is held today by Ensor Park and Museum in south Olathe to celebrate 102 years of amateur radio. The free event runs from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ensor Park, 18995 W 183rd St.—offering live music, museum tours, a car show and barbecue. Olathe Reporter
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At 9:12 p.m. near Santa Fe and Blake streets, the Olathe Police Department responded when a pickup truck struck a pedestrian—37-year-old Jill E. Turner from Indiana—and despite attempted life-saving measures she was pronounced dead as police continue investigating with the driver cooperating. KMBC
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ At Friday’s Culture Fest at Johnson County Square, Olathe celebrated its lowrider bike club that began as a school project and has grown into clubs in four states while achieving a 100% graduation rate since 2018. The program will see five students build a bike at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in July—highlighting its national recognition and community impact. KSHB

- ➤ Olathe was named a top city for community satisfaction for the fifth year in a row by the ETC Institute— a research firm that ranks local governments in the top 10 percent for resident approval of services, customer service, and the value of local taxes and fees.
