A boat accident at Lake Quivira early Saturday evening left one person dead when emergency crews responded at about 5:50 p.m.—firefighters recovered the body by 7:02 p.m. and the investigation is ongoing.

A 34-year-old Olathe man died early Saturday in a single-vehicle crash on northbound I-435 near 95th Street when his 2005 Ford pickup veered off the roadway, hit a DOT signpost, slid across wet ground — and struck a bridge pillar.

After 18 months of court-supervised treatment, George Radee and Brandon Stevens became the first graduates of Johnson County’s adult drug treatment court and had their charges dismissed.
