- ➤ Local cities and the county will host free World Cup watch parties at multiple venues in June and July, including Shawnee Mission Park, downtown Overland Park, Lenexa City Center, Park Place and Mission Market. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Olathe Public Library is offering a free summer reading program that gives kids prizes like stuffed dinosaurs, books, lemonade and soccer backpacks. The program runs through August 2 and uses the Beanstack app to track reading. KCTV 5
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ The Olathe City Council approved the Forest View townhome project on May 19 near K-7 and 119th Street. Rodrock Development will build 14 two-story buildings in two phases — first 48 then 24 units — with walking trails, a picnic area, and open space, even as traffic and parking concerns remain.
