  • Outdoor retailer Gearhead Outfitters closed its Olathe store earlier this year as part of a broader national review of its operations. CRIME NEWS

  • A Lawrence woman, Ellana Graham, was held on a $750,000 bond for allegedly distributing drugs that led to the death of Cherie Williams in September 2024 — she was arrested on May 29 by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and booked into jail.  KSHB
  • Detective Fisher of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office renovated an interview room with new furniture, fresh paint, and sensory items—part of a national effort by Project Beloved to help crime victims share their experiences more comfortably.  KSHB

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Thirty-two high school graduates from JoCo earned National Merit scholarships after the National Merit Scholarship Corporation named winners of college-sponsored awards based on academic performance and test scores. Recipients will receive between $500 and $2,500 and are set to attend colleges nationwide — with Blue Valley Schools having the highest number of honorees.  Johnson County Post
