Ronald McDonald House is unveiling two massive 15-by-25-ft banners this morning featuring Kansas City imagery and soccer chants (representing Algeria, Argentina, England, the Netherlands, and the United States) in a fundraiser that supports housing for families.

Smaller flags will be sold Friday at Hy-Vee stores with proceeds helping families in need.

OfficeMax, a longtime retailer (in operation for over 10 years), is closing its store at Merriam Town Center after posting signage and initiating liquidation sales; a new grocery store is planned for the center pending details at a public hearing later this month.
