- ➤ James Arkell of Loretto Companies said the Halo Ridge project in Olathe is still planned despite an inherited title issue delaying work at the southwest corner of 119th Street and Renner—once resolved and after city approval, the project will move forward with an ultra-accessible amusement park, youth sports complex, hotel, shops, and restaurants. Community support is strong as local youth sports groups have made future commitments to use the new facilities. Johnson County Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Missouri lawmakers will vote on a stadium funding proposal on Wednesday that could lead Kansas City teams like the Chiefs and Royals to move across state lines. The measure, part of Gov. Mike Kehoe's special session, requires local counties to contribute and may trigger a public vote. KSHB
- ➤ County commissioners approved a 50/50 deal with Olathe to build a $22M three-level parking garage with 379 spaces (225 of which are new) behind City Hall to ease the parking shortage and improve handicap accessibility near the courthouse; the city council will vote on the plan later this month or in early July.
