Olathe has built three data centers near the Cedar Creek area, and its newest 90,000 sqft facility—approved in 2024—is under construction southwest of K-10 and K-7 (between Honeywell Aerospace and Resurrection West Church) to serve one client.

The Johnson County Museum was named a recipient of the 2026 Award of Excellence for Ripples: Water, Community, and You, an exhibit that linked local history with water issues and drew 45,000 visitors.

The award will be presented at the AASLH Annual Conference on Sept. 18 (Providence, R.I.).

The Olathe Municipal Court and the Olathe Public Schools Foundation will accept school supply donations from July 7 to Aug.
