The University of Kansas Hospital’s Burnett Burn Center, along with its Olathe and Liberty campuses, treated ten male patients with fireworks injuries — mostly affecting their hands, arms, face and eyes and ranging in age from 6 to 58 — and three were admitted as of 3 p.m. on July 4.

Residents in Olathe will soon know how their 2026 property tax bill may change as local governments and schools present new budget proposals.

Olathe Public Schools (55% of the bill) and local governments (about 19 to 20% each) will share the cost with community colleges covering the rest.
