Olathe residents can visit the Indian Creek Library’s Friends of the Library Book Sale this weekend featuring over 600 boxes of books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks and vinyl records at $1 or less.
Open Saturday 10 a.m. — 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 — 4 p.m., the sale includes a $6 sack option.
Community Threads offers free boutique clothing and personal shopping assistance so clients leave with dignity; founder Shelley White opened the nonprofit at 420 Kansas Ave and it is open Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in August plus the second Saturday monthly from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Lenexa Police Department issued a Silver Alert for James P.
Snyder (77) with dementia who was last seen near W. 87th Street and Lackman Road at around 1:30 p.m. Friday, and anyone with helpful information is urged to call 911.

The Olathe Reporter was selected as the official newspaper of Olathe Public Schools after the school board voted 6-0 on Thursday night — it will publish required legal notices under Kansas law.
