Johnson County Post will receive a $300,000 grant from the Google News Initiative to expand its trusted community coverage into areas including Olathe, De Soto, Gardner-Edgerton and Spring Hill.

The first installment will arrive in the third quarter and will fund operational costs—supporting a new reporting role for Olathe and another full-time reporter in 2026.
