CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lenexa tax preparer Hophine Bwosinde pled guilty to fraud and false statements and was sentenced to three years in prison for filing false income tax returns that cost the IRS over $1.5 million — his fraudulent actions spanned from 2018 to 2022 as noted in federal court documents. KCTV 5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Olathe city council retroactively approved 95,000 dollars extra funding from the traffic signal excise tax to cover increased costs for installing a traffic signal and constructing a southbound right turn lane at Sunset Drive plus Ridgeview Road. The move addresses safety concerns from heavy traffic volumes. Olathe Reporter
- ➤ At its Tuesday meeting, the Olathe city council approved water main repairs and began work on a gravity sanitary sewer interceptor — the project will extend sewer service to areas along Old 56 Highway west of Robinson Drive that lack it. Olathe Reporter
