CRIME NEWS

  • Criminals in Kansas have been cloning vehicles by copying legal VINs onto stolen cars—tricking buyers into cash deals and increasing insurance costs—and the Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed 14 cases this year.  KSNT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Johnson County Park and Recreation District has begun planning its largest park using the Greater Kill Creek Area Park Master Plan to convert more than 3,000 acres of land into a space for outdoor recreation, environmental restoration and historic preservation. The first public engagement event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on August 2 at the Kill Creek Park Beach House in Olathe — Santec Consulting will lead the planning process.  KSHB

HEALTH NEWS

  • Johnson County Department of Health and Environment in Olathe is offering walk-in sports physicals for middle and high school athletes participating in fall sports and KSHSAA events at its clinic on S.
