- ➤ An Olathe man, Armando Javier Guerrero, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in connection with Landen Roggenkamp’s death from a March 29 shooting on the 1400 block of East Mart-Way Circle — his sentencing is set for Sept. 25. KCTV 5
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Aug. 7, the Olathe school board voted 6-0 to close Westview Elementary after the 2025-26 school year and repurpose the building as the district's first K-8 alternative education program— a change prompted by declining enrollment. Meetings on school boundary changes will begin next month to reassign students and arrange school tours— ensuring families are prepared for the transition. Johnson County Post
