An Olathe man, Armando Javier Guerrero, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in connection with Landen Roggenkamp’s death from a March 29 shooting on the 1400 block of East Mart-Way Circle — his sentencing is set for Sept.
25.
🎓 Education
On Aug. 7, the Olathe school board voted 6-0 to close Westview Elementary after the 2025-26 school year and repurpose the building as the district's first K-8 alternative education program— a change prompted by declining enrollment.
Meetings on school boundary changes will begin next month to reassign students and arrange school tours— ensuring families are prepared for the transition.
