- ➤ A 46-year-old Olathe woman, Romaine Grant, was hospitalized Tuesday morning after her vehicle hydroplaned on westbound K-10 near Cedar Creek Parkway—her car overturned during a storm and came to rest in a ditch. Olathe Reporter

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ County commissioners approved over $2 million in federal funds — a $2.38 million grant — for Metro Lutheran Ministry to build 16 housing units for vulnerable individuals, with the projects set to be ready by late 2026 or early 2027. The federal funds from HUD’s American Rescue Plan must be used by 2030. KMBC
- ➤ Olathe officials approved a $2,350,000 study on Aug. 5 to examine eight at-grade and one low-clearance crossing on the city’s west side, aiming to assess safety and traffic delays from 80 to 90 trains daily—city, federal, and BNSF funds support the project expected to wrap up by January. The study will provide engineering estimates to help prioritize future improvements. Johnson County Post
