- ➤ Former Overland Park police officer Adam Vendetti lost his certification last month after a misdemeanor battery charge in Olathe on July 15, 2024—he reached a diversion agreement with prosecutors on February 14. KSHB

- ➤ A University of Kansas political science professor compared Missouri's proposed district lines that would split Kansas City to the 2022 redistricting in Lawrence that joined the city with rural areas. Kansas Gov. Kelly expressed concern over partisan mapping and urged residents, especially those in Johnson County, to contact their state representatives — the debate over independent redistricting continues. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A newly approved COVID-19 vaccine for seniors and people with certain health conditions is now offered at a CVS in Overland Park where most insurance is accepted and walk-ins are welcome. Health experts say the single-dose vaccine—boasting an excellent safety profile—is key in reducing the risk of severe disease as fall travel picks up. KMBC

- ➤ Two College Meadows homeowners had their homes flood again this summer—heavy rains worsened a drainage issue—and the city denied their tort claims, saying the problem is not caused by city actions.
