- ➤ The Olathe City Council approved the 2026 budget by a 5-2 vote on Tuesday—keeping the same flat property tax rate while higher home appraisals boost bills by an average of seven percent. - ➤ Last night, the Olathe City Council approved a $300 million plan for a cold storage facility after heated testimony about the chemicals and risks of lower property values—neighbors voiced strong protests.
