ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Westphalia resident lifted a vehicle off a person trapped underneath at 9:45 a.m. Thursday and moved the victim to safety before emergency crews arrived—first responders transported the patient by helicopter to a Kansas City trauma center while the Anderson County Sheriff praised the quick thinking.  KMBC

EDUCATION NEWS

  • High school seniors in Johnson County were named National Merit semifinalists from PSAT scores, with 51 from Blue Valley plus 19 from Olathe Public Schools among those recognized, and finalists will be announced in the spring for about 6,930 scholarships totaling nearly $26 million.  Johnson County Post
