- ➤ Third Street Social is set to open later this year at 206 W. Loula St. in downtown Olathe as work continues on converting a former city technology office into a restaurant—joining other new businesses in the redevelopment area. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kansas State Treasurer Steven Johnson announced $1.5 million was awarded on Oct 3 in the Home in the Heartland grant program to support local efforts in attracting new residents and boosting economic growth. The funds will be disbursed in two installments as participating communities meet relocation targets—recipients include Kingman, Parsons, and others. KSNT
- ➤ Johnson County Med-Act celebrated its 50th anniversary with an honorary reunion on Sept. 27—marking decades of emergency service and community care. The agency, staffed by 195 employees and having handled over 55,000 calls last year, will continue using advanced technology to serve residents. Johnson County Post
