- ➤ Developers will break ground on Halo Ridge in February at 119th and Renner Boulevard, renaming the site formerly known as Olathe Gateway. The $320 million, ultra-accessible tourism district—featuring an amusement park, sports arena, hotel and medical facility—will open in phases after a title issue was resolved and is expected to boost local revenue. - ➤ Johnson County Housing Authority expanded its Foster Youth to Independence voucher program to help youth aging out of foster care get affordable housing, offering 19 vouchers and personalized support services. - ➤ Kansas high school softball players raised concerns over unfair facility assignments after Blue Valley Recreation withdrew from hosting next year’s 6A quarterfinals — the Kansas State High School Activities Association is now choosing a new site.
