  • Dave McClung, an 82 year old Olathe resident, became the oldest person to complete the 80 mile trek to Mount Everest South Base Camp during an eight-day expedition that ended on Oct. 19—he was joined by his 55 year old son Dennis to mark this bucket list achievement.  Johnson County Post

  • Olathe McDonald’s manager Jaime Menjivar was honored Thursday with the Ray Kroc Award and $5,000 for his leadership at the local restaurant — he has worked 27 years with McDonald’s, including eight in Olathe, and he will be recognized at the Worldwide Convention in Las Vegas.  KMBC

  • A FOX4 investigation finds that corporate-owned vet clinics are driving up costs nationwide — in Kansas City, pet owners have spent thousands as treatment bills rose 64% over the past decade.
