EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Olathe Public Schools will send about 150 Westview Elementary students to Rolling Ridge Elementary next fall as Westview closes permanently due to declining enrollment. The board approved the change on Thursday night and the district will provide free bus transportation for the next two school years + convert the Westview building into a K-8 alternative program. - ➤ The Olathe Public Schools Board of Education approved a $389 million bond referendum with no tax rate increase to fund school security, classroom, playground, weight room, and maintenance upgrades—this includes building two new elementary schools to replace four older ones. Voters will decide on the proposal during the bond election on March 3. KCTV 5
