- ➤ Olathe based Brown Suga, a family owned cookie shop, will open its second retail store in Leawood in February 2026 at Park Place shopping center on Ash St — adding ice cream, coffee drinks and other treats to its menu. The new store will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday — marking a key expansion from its original location in Olathe. Johnson County Post
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ State health officials said one of the largest tuberculosis outbreaks in decades ended in the Kansas City, Kansas area after no new active cases were reported since April. A total of 68 active cases and 91 latent infections were treated successfully with support from the CDC + local health departments. KSNT

- ➤ Local groups and government leaders in Johnson County are testing several housing initiatives—Habitat for Humanity is already building a pocket neighborhood in southern Olathe while city councils update comprehensive plans and offer new financing options.
