On Thanksgiving Day, Olathe’s Youth and Family Services Center served as a warming center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for more than 20 unhoused residents who received food, activities and a safe place to be warm.
County Commissioner Janeé Hanzlick said the pilot program, which began on previous holidays, will be expanded to support a 24-hour homeless services center to meet ongoing needs.
