- ➤ On Tuesday, Olathe City Council reviewed plans for a new $25 million animal shelter, which would nearly double capacity — from 95 to about 165 kennels. The new facility is planned for 1120 E. Santa Fe Street on a lot taken through eminent domain. Olathe Reporter
- ➤ The Olathe Fire Department entered an agreement with Johnson County on Tuesday to send its units to unincorporated areas for minor medical emergencies (like a broken hip) while reserving the closest unit for deadly incidents. Olathe Reporter
