- ➤ Christopher Yates was awarded $5.7 million today after a jury found that two Merriam hospital professionals were negligent in discharging his wife, Kim Yates, who died by suicide days after treatment—making it the largest wrongful death verdict in Johnson County. Johnson County Post

- ➤ Johnson County admitted in the spring that Blue Valley homeowners were billed incorrectly for 2023 and 2024 taxes—causing extra charges, sometimes over $2,000, for some homeowners.
